Toddlers

Toddlers have a team dedicated to meeting the individual needs of all the children. Toddlers generally move from Babies when they are one, following a settling in period where they meet the toddler staff and get used to the new environment. The toddlers follow a flexible routine which offers the children a range of experiences and activities based around the Government framework Birth to Three Matters, supporting children in their earliest years. In support of this the children are offered periods of

  • Free play, which is child initiated and undirected
  • Structured play, which is adult supported and specifically focused
  • Creative activities using a variety of medium and resources
  • Small and large group activities
  • Individual activities with an adult supporting a child individually to develop specific needs

The children enjoy a period of time outside each day in the garden where further opportunities for the children’s learning can be offered.
