My name is Kayleigh Tye and I am the Manager of our Yellow Dot Nursery in Ampfield.
I joined Yellow Dot in 2014, starting in the Baby Room and progressing to the Nursery Manager position. I share Yellow Dot’s values in the importance of family and the care and ambitions for the children (and Team!).
Over the past 10 years, I have gained lots of experience in early year’s settings giving me a strong understanding of the child development, developing my leadership skills and along the way gathering inspirational ideas to further the children’s learning. I also spent 2 years working with vulnerable adults adding another facet to my skills, but I really missed the early year’s environment!
Children’s learning is something I am very passionate about and within my role I aspire to instil my passion in my Team, and together, continue to enhance our outdoor play. I am also very creative and passionate about getting messy with the children and enjoy seeing their reactions to doing something for the first time.
Yellow Dot are supporting me to study for my Early Years Degree. This has been a real insight into why we teach the way we do and confirmed the practice I have used all these years. Lots of study but really worth it.
We are very fortunate to have our own onsite Nature Nursery in the woods behind the Nursery, which all the Ampfield children explore. The bog is very popular so wellies are a must! If your child loves the freedom of the outdoors, then please do come and meet us.
Our activities are founded on the Early Years Foundation Stage which focuses on:
